Do's and Dont's in Nashik Kumbh Mela

Do's in Nashik kumbh Mela :-
  • Pilgrims are requested to buy ticket, valuables and fares from authorized agents only.
  • Pilgrims are requested to use the bathing areas/ Ghats that are authorized by the Mela administration for their safety and security purpose.
  • Pilgrims are requested to wear comfortable clothing while moving around a city, town, and local markets.
  • Keep track of all local and international news to be aware of criminal activities and other problems.
  • Always respect the cultural and religious values of locals.
  • If any unidentified or suspicious object is located, the Mela administration or the police control room should be informed about it.
  • Pilgrims are requested to follow the traffic rules and regulations in the city and the Mela area
  • The directions and advice given through the Central Public Address System may be followed to avoid any inconvenience.
  • Garbage should be thrown only in the dustbins.
  • Pilgrims and visitors are requested to be appropriately attired considering the religious and cultural sensibilities of the event. The local service providers will be happy to give advice on this issue.

  • Don’t speak to strangers or disclose much about whereabouts.
  • Use of plastic bags in Nashik city is prohibited by the Maharashtra Government.
  • Washing of clothes on the river banks should be avoided.
  • Don’t accept anything to eat and drink from strangers.
  • Pilgrims and visitors are advised not to encourage beggary.
  • Don’t indulge in cut fruits, vegetables, and eat street food.
  • Don’t drink tap water or buy bottles that aren’t sealed properly.
  • Don’t hitchhike. This may put your life in danger.
  • Use of soaps while bathing in rivers should be avoided.
  • Throwing of the materials used for worship or rituals in the river should be avoided
