Nashik Information

Nashik is an important tourist destination of Maharashtra. Lord Rama spent some of his time to during his exile of 14 years. Its natural beauty and religious importance attract thousands of tourists every year. Important tourist attractions in Nashik include Kala Ram Mandir, Trimbakeshwar and Nandurmadmeshwar. The Kala Ram temple was built by Odhekar, a Maratha vassal of the Peshwas. This temple is made only of black stones. Great processions are held in the temple on Ram Navami, Dusshera and Chaitra Padwa. Trimbakeshwar is one of the 12 jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Locals believe anybody visiting the temple will gain salvation.

Nashik is also famous in world due to Kumbh Mela which held here in every 12 years. People can easily reach to Nashik.

By Air
Nashik is well connected to other major cities of the country via regular flights. The nearest airport is Nasik Ozar Airport. It is located at Ozar, 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) northeast of the city of Nashik, Maharashtra, India. The big Airport is Mumbai airport which is just 235km from Nashik.

By Train
Nashik railway station is a major station on the Central Railway network. Many trains connect Nashik to other cities with the Panchvati Express taking just under five hours to travel from Mumbai to Nashik. Buses and auto-rickshaws are available from outside the station to reach the city centre.

By Road
The roads of Nashik smoothly connect it with the neighboring cities. Nashik provides a good network of both state and private buses with affordable fares.
